dHun, a Hindi word meaning folk song or melody, embodies the deep Indo-European soul of music.

While Western European folk musicians often rely on two well-known scales — the joyful major and the melancholic minor — Indian tradition offers an incredibly rich palette of scales, known as ragas.

Each raga is associated with a specific time of day, a seasonal transition, or a particular mood, carrying profound symbolic meaning and a unique atmosphere.

Tom Theuns and Aurélie Dorzée drew inspiration from these ragas — sometimes unexpected but always mesmerizing — to subtly weave them together with familiar European dance forms such as waltzes, mazurkas, bourrées, polkas, and more.

Thus, each piece bears the name of its corresponding raga. Carried by spellbinding voices and virtuosic string work, they offer a poetic and daring reinterpretation of traditional dance music.
