Un univers empreint de folklore, d’humour, de révolte et d’intrigues. Un sextet énergique et généreux, où les genres et les traditions disparaissent, ou se mélangent, au profit de l’instant. Plus qu’un groupe, Funk Sinatra est en réalité une immense saga, une longue aventure dont chaque projet correspond à une saison, à l’étape d’un cheminement vers un gigantesque aboutissement lors duquel toutes les aventures vécues et les personnages rencontrés trouveront leur place et révèleront leur sens véritable. Car en effet si chaque saison constitue un répertoire et un univers à part entière, leur association dévoile un nouveau projet. Ainsi, une infinité de détails, qu’ils semblent signifiants ou non, prendront une tournure tout à fait différente a posteriori, dévoilant dès lors leur véritable nature. Formé en juin 2002 par Emmanuel Louis autour de ses compositions, Funk Sinatra est né de la rencontre de musiciens venant d’horizons très variés (classique, rock, jazz, musique contemporaine, pop, improvisation libre)

More than a simple band, Funk Sinatra is in fact a huge saga, a long adventure whose each project may be compared to a season, at every stage of the trip to the gigantic outcome! Then all of the true stories and the characters we’ve met will find their place and will reveal their real sense. Actually if each season build up a repertoire and its own universe, their combination unveils a whole new project. Then an infinite number of details, insignificant or not, will take a new shape a posteriori, uncovering their true nature. Formed in June 2002 by Emmanuel Louis to perform his own compositions, Funk Sinatra is the meeting of musicians from varying disciplines (classical, jazz, rock, contemporary music, pop, free improvisation)

Hij deed vanaf het begin beroep op nieuwe musicale talenten met heel verschillende achtergronden : klassiek, rock, jazz, eigentijdse muziek, pop, vrije improvisatie, …
