DuO. Is the first solo project by Bart Praet.
The name of this project does not only refer to the number of musicians – Bart is musically accompanied by Philip Masure – but DuO also covers the origins of the music itself: traditional melodies on the one hand and new, own compositions on the other hand.
The traditional part is derived from Galicia and Ireland, tunes that have stuck in Bart’s memories since his childhood.
The own compositions are inspired on traditional Music from the whole of Europe, assimilated with mellow influences from other genres.
DuO is therefore a musical journey into Europe, brought in its own, unique way.
The combination of wind and stringed instruments brings an authentic touch to each of the songs.
