“Vahoaka” is the Malagasy people, this album is dedicated to the inhabitants of the red island, to those who continue to fight and hope for peace despite historical difficulties and the challenge of cultural diversity in this country.

In Madagascar, we grew up in the highlands and when the harsh winter arrives, the Vahoaka dresses in several layers of clothing, it becomes a style, it’s Belamba. And we consider this mix of colors as a message of courage. Vahoaka smiling, despite the suffering behind.

Belamba is the eye, ear, and cry of the Vahoaka. In this album, we talk about our history, the practice of ancestral traditions and customs (Arahabaina, Lehilahy Mahery, Sampy), daily and social life du Vahoaka (Katakata sy pakopako, Kiliniota, Aiky Antra), environmental degradation (Mitomany ny tany) and thus the belief in and respect for our divine Zanahary (Talaho).

We associate the guitar with the voice and traditional instruments of Madagascar : Katsaha, Raloba, Marovany, Valiha, Sodina, Langoro, Ampongabe.
