Anmoor is a hydromorphic humus made of an intimate mixture of clay and organic matter. Anmoor is double bass, accordion and voice — a project nourished by traditional melodies, kneading and reshaping them to become the fertile ground for original compositions, a music that is profoundly intimate.
In the beginning, we wanted to create a project together where we would feel free to go wherever we wanted — a breath of fresh air. And little by little, it became an extension of our story, a vessel for the intensity of what we share, and what we wish to share. We named it Anmoor. Over the past two years, we’ve brought it to the stage many times. Diana David gave it a dramaturgy made of poetic texts and everyday sounds. And now, alongside the label homerecords.be, Anmoor takes shape as an album — adorned with the sublime illustrations of Silvia Bazantova, the photographs of eRno le Mentholé, and the mix by Michel Van Achter.
This album is called Spire. A spire is something with no beginning and no end — a cycle that never repeats itself. It is a moment, or a lifetime, or thousands of them. A spire is something that holds an infinity of beginnings and endings, a cycle in constant metamorphosis. It is a moment of transition, a consequence of time, of the succession of all moments.
This album, these pieces, carry melodies that, spire after spire, have reached us — melodies that have undergone the metamorphosis of who we are, that are no longer under our fingers what they once were, but what we deeply wish to express, here and now.
