SOPHIE CAVEZ: diatonic accordeon

"I think I was the first one who saw Sophie Cavez with an accordeon in her hands about 7 years ago on an accordeon class.
I was impressed by how fast her fingers found their ways on the accordeon keyboard. A real magical student from Didier Laloy's school. But, except the people of the folk music world, in the rest of the world, the great and wide world, nobody knew about her. No one could imagine that one day an accordeonist of international style would appear".
She first met Jonathan De Neck and Karim Baggili and founded together Dazibao coloured with european folk, flamenco and eastern sounds. Jo Zanders came then to join the group and gave a brazilian flavour to the music. Together, they were on their way to the first CD "Alma" where bass player Vincent Noiret already appears as guest musician.
But it's with Urban Trad that her name came to be known by a larger public, touring across Europe on some of the greatest stages.
The fairy tale went on when the famous accordeon player Anne Nieplod called her and invited her the join the fantastic story of her new project gathering 4 diatonic accordeons named Knopf Quartet.
The success story went on when, for the Boombal she was asked to present a project dedicated to danse. Gathering the best "groovy" musicians she had the opportunity to meet, she created KV Express. Another spicy baby came under the form of a CD called "Luna". She now spends more time in Brittany, taking new energy and inspiration to keep on enchanting the world of contemporary folk.
